Season One | Episode 8
Dr. Alan Keister
Amarillo Medical Specialists & Heal the City
Dr. Alan Keister was born and raised in Amarillo, Texas and after some time away, he returned to Amarillo with his wife to raise his four daughters. Dr. Keister has worked in private practice for over 20 years, but in 2014 his background in mission work led him to begin providing quality healthcare to the uninsured in Amarillo and from there, Heal the City was born.
In this episode, Dr. Keister shares how he and his team are able to stay on the same page and constantly work toward furthering their mission of serving the uninsured in Amarillo with dignity and respect. He discusses the importance of flexibility and creativity when it comes to encountering bumps in the road and navigating around those “bumps”. Dr. Keister will share what helps keep him inspired to continue chasing his dream and how he feels thankful each day to be able to give back to the community that raised him.
In this episode, Dr. Keister recommends the book “Mission Adrift” by Peter Greer & Chris Horst for insight into staying on course within your organization. You can find that book here.
