give. serve. unite.

One of our Founding Principles is GENEROSITY. We Do More Than We Need To. The Spirit of giving started with our founder, Ray M. Bain, and is part of the First United Bank culture.

The Spirit of Generosity is back!

It’s the most wonderful time of the year at First United Bank! It’s time to promote the Spirit of GENEROSITY as we join together to GIVE, SERVE and UNITE this holiday season.

Starting today each individual Banking Center and/or department will have a discretionary budget that must be used to perform random acts of kindness throughout the communities we serve. That’s right, the budget is discretionary – no strings attached.

Here are some examples of how your budget might be used: Throw a Christmas party for a senior living community; buy Christmas presents for a low-income afterschool program; or deliver cookies and coffee to nurses in your community hospital. In the Spirit of GENEROSITY, no act of kindness is too small to make a difference this holiday season.

Since 2014 our STARS have done some pretty amazing things through the Spirit of GENEROSITY campaign. Most importantly, we’ve learned that no act of kindness is too small to make a difference.
